Abstract

Planned obsolescence is planning end of life of a product calculated by the manufacturer or by the company during the design phase of the product, translates that article became obsolete, not functional, archaic, it is handling the economy since the trend is that consumers get the product in less time, when could last much longer, thus achieving environmental pollution. The initial phase of planned obsolescence was in the years of 1920-1930, when a group of entrepreneurs found that their companies when their products earned more lasting less because their sales soared, regardless of ethics and organizational culture. This concept originated in the industrial revolution and mass production. The objective of this research is to analyze how impacts planned obsolescence as the final cause of the ecosystem, it should be noted that a qualitative methodology was used, with an analysis of documentary, which was based in contrast to some authors in this study exposed on the subject, among which are Bauman, Z (2008), Leonard (2011), Mészaros (1989), Zahar (2008), after explaining the variables, it was concluded that planned obsolescence is planned so that large manufacturing industries of different products economically and to sustain and maintain a workforce in a labor market.
